Component doens not work correct
Posted Monday, 26 October 2009 By Edward
As a test I have installed the component on my local test server and followed the manual.

I processed the gedcom with success and was able to link a tree holder.

I made menu-items for all three joaktree-possibilities.

Problem is that on the front-end (after logged in) only the tree holder is visible. That is, his name is visible. Nothing else (no further information, no photo). The index shows only this person too. I published every person but that does not matter.

That sounds like a real problem.
It is different to analyse without further information.
- Do you see all persons in the administration module?
- Did you "assign" your tree (paragraph 4.2 of the manual)?

If you answer both question with "yes" I need more information to be able to analyse your problem. Please, let me know through this forum or through the contact page of my site what the status of your issue is. I like to help you.
Same problem

I have same problem. Only one person is listed (JOaktree List Layout) though if you click on that person it shows parents, children, etc. I did see all persons in the administration module and assigned the tree.
Check filter and settings

1. If you only see one person in the list, please make sure that the search filters are empty. Perhaps the list is filtered on a specific name.

2. When you click on that one person, parents and children are shown. Can you click on the parents and children (to show their information)? If not, I assume that the "page" setting is set to false to for all persons in your database except the one shown in the list.

3. I am not able to recreate the problem in my own testsite. If the problem persists you can perhaps send me a screen print.

1)Filters are all empty.

2)Yes. I have set 1982 people Published, Living and Page all to a green tick to try and retify problem. No good.

3)I dont think Ill persist with Joaktree as its also very limited on what it shows. My static site shows other events like Residence, Miltary, Cremation, Cause of Death etc. so I think ill stick with it for now. Ill check back later to see if it has been enhanced. Thanks anyway!
